Amazing $30 Map-Making Software Bundle Is a Online Gaming GM's Dream

Following a brief run back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore available through early December. Hailed as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by a specialized software company throughout their history, the complete package carries a value of over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is certainly a lifetime license for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard mapping application which enables users to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, smaller regional maps, urban layouts, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

A regional fantasy map generated in the CC3+ software platform.

Package Levels

Basic Package

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four from the thirty-nine available products: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Source Maps: Castles!, and Source Maps: Cities!. This one's only for cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer new fantasy symbol styles for overworld maps, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle starting at fifteen dollars is where things get more interesting by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from the company's long-running monthly subscription service featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Full Package

Starting at thirty dollars, the comprehensive package includes all the following:

  • Fractal Terrains 3+
  • Dungeon Designer 3
  • City Designer 3
  • Cosmic Mapping System
  • Perspectives 3
  • Dioramas 3
  • Character Design Module

  • Cartographer’s Annual Vol 1-17
  • Permanent CC3+ Access
  • Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities
  • Tome of Ultimate Mapping
  • Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland
  • Monster Token Set 1

  • Source Maps: Cities!

Every volume from the Annual series come with this bundle, alongside a slew of other resource and asset packs enabling creators to design entire planets or galaxies, or focus exclusively on classic fantasy realm creation: battle maps, dungeons, cities, and land masses from almost any perspective. Users can also create character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, especially for cartographers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly an even better deal for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The sole limitation is that while you can redeem the deal across platforms, the applications only function on Windows.

Charitable Component

As with other Humble Bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief. Package customization options appear near the page top, but you can also select any amount for a donation in the right-hand section. Additionally available is an donation allocation menu immediately below, enabling adjustment of how much of your donation goes to Humble, Profantasy, and Save the Children.
