The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
